Biography:
Pádraig Rynne is regarded as one of the finest concertina players in Irish music today being described by The Irish alphabet stew as "one of the freshest sounds in Irish music". Born in County Clare, Pádraig grew up in a house steeped in Traditional Irish Music with his father Tom being a well know accordion player and his Uncle Joe well known fiddle payer. Many of his early learning years were spent being surrounded by such legendary players as Michael Kelleher and Paddy Murphy which greatly influenced his playing.
In his early years Pádraig won five all Ireland titles as well as three Oireachtas titles. By the age of seventeen Pádraig had all ready toured the U.S.A, Canada, Ireland and Australia as well as having recorded an album with the young band "Turas".
In 1998 Pádraig joined the well-known band "Cían" with which he recorded two albums "Three Shouts From A Hill" (1998) and "The Rolling wave" (2000). Cian toured the world extensively and were regarded by many as one of the top bands of that era.
Since his departure from Cian in 2001, Pádraig has worked and recorded with artists of the calibre of Arty McGlynn, Triona Ni Domhnaill, John McSherry, Liz Carroll, At First light, Flook & Tamalin just to name a few, as well as recording an album entitled "Live in Belfast" with Paul Meehan & Paul Bradley.
"Bye A While" - Padraig's first solo album was released in 2005. This long awaited album has some of the finest Irish musicians you can find in Irish music guesting on it. "Bye A While" was one of the fastest selling trad albums of 2005.
2009 saw the release of "Live" from Guidewires. Guidewires have an all-star line up including Pádraig, Breton music’s hottest name Sylvain Barou on Flute, one of Ireland’s most recognisable names Tóla Custy on fiddle, top producer and performer Paul McSherry on guitar and one of the fastest growing stars in Irish music, Karol Lynch on Bouzouki. "Live" has become one of the most popular albums of recent years and Guidewires have been credited by many as injecting a new fresh sound into Irish Music.
For 2011 Pádraig is already involved in a number of new projects. There is a collaboration album already started with Tyler Duncan (Millish) on Low Whistles and Pipes, Mike Shimmin on Drums and Karol Lynch on Bouzouki and Guitars. Padraig is producing a new album by Galway singer, Shane Fahy. Work will start on a new "Pádraig Rynne" album, collaborations and projects with Sylvain Barou and Donal Lunny as well as headlining some of Europe’s top festivals with Guidewires.
